Security Clearance: Secret (active)

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Software Developer to join our team, supporting Army stakeholders in creating and refining advanced software solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in software development, user feedback incorporation, and the ability to transition prototypes into fully deployed systems. This role involves close collaboration with government leadership, technical teams, vendors, and end-users to ensure that the evolving needs of different communities are met with high-quality, secure, and performant software.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Secret clearance.

Rate: $60 - $80 / hr. w2



Responsibilities:

  • Develop new software solutions in response to changing user needs, integrating emerging technologies, protocols, and data sources.
  • Work closely with various Army stakeholders to understand the specific requirements of different communities and produce user-friendly tools.
  • Continuously gather and incorporate user feedback to enhance and evolve software capabilities over time.
  • Create secure and high-performance software prototypes, ensuring smooth transitions into full deployment environments.
  • Collaborate effectively across multiple teams, including government leadership, technical engineers, vendors, and end-users (virtually and in-person).
  • Ensure that all software development processes, from testing and documentation to deployment, follow best practices.



Experience Requirements:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or similar.
  • Experience with REST, Open API, and service architecture.
  • Experience with databases, virtualization, and container technologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux scripting frameworks and implementation practices.
  • Experience with version control systems, including Git or similar platforms.
  • Strong conceptual understanding of software development processes, including test-driven development and operational feedback loops.
  • Experience developing solutions using C, C++, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell and group policy implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data findings and recommendations to senior leadership across the organization.


Preferred Skills:



  • Background in working within defense or government-related software projects.
  • Experience working in Agile or similar project management methodologies.
  • Understanding of security protocols and compliance within the military or defense sectors.



Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree of relevant experience in a related field

(Alternatively, a BS can be substituted with an additional years of related experience in tactical network support functions or similar.)
