We are seeking a highly organized, independent Finance and Accounting Manager to lead a core business line of the Department of Psychiatry (DOP). The Finance Manager is responsible for budgeting and financial data analysis in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) and Associate Director of Finance and Administration (ADFA). This position will manage the Finance Team consisting of a minimum of 5 team members including finance, business intelligence, and revenue cycles professionals as well as the Advancement Program Manager. The Finance Manager and their team will assist the Department Administrators (DFA/ ADFA) as needed with oversight of the department's budgets and financial forecasting, including the preparation of business analyses and pro formas. This position will work closely with the Department Administrators to review expenditures and provide regular updates and reporting to department leadership related to division financial health as well as overall departmental financial status. The Finance Manager has decision making authority and is responsible for regular financial reporting and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures of the University, Department, and federal and other funding sources. The Finance Manager and their team will be available to collaborate with the five division administrators in support of budgeting, financial analysis, special projects, accounting, and auditing. This position is responsible for working with CU MEDICINE, UCHealth, CHCO, and other funding agencies for the creation, management, and amendments of external contracts as directed by and in collaboration with the Department Administrators and Division Administrators. Key Responsibilities:
- General oversight of the department's budgets and financial forecasting of the department's risk/liabilities and revenues/profits.
- Supervision of Advancement, Upper Payment Limit (UPL) program, Revenue Cycles, and finance professionals.
- Management of funding distribution life cycle including certifications.
- Oversight of contract and invoice tracking processes for the department as well as providing support to divisions.
- Management of start of year salary and budget setting and mid-year salary setting processes.
- Management of the Department's make-whole process with hospital partners across the state of Colorado.
- Oversight of the Department's Medical-Legal clinic including review of payments.
- Management of quality improvement with departmental division administrators to ensure that departmental processes meet expectations and needs for the entire department.
- Management of departmental revenue cycle initiatives including provider champion meetings and oversight of new provider billing classes.

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of experience in healthcare accounting, fund accounting, and/or business analysis.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- A master's degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Revenue Cycle experience.
- Experience with CUData, PowerBi, or A2E.
- Prior experience with behavioral health billing and service provision.
- Research administration experience.
- Operations experience that included the building of reporting systems and project management/ticketing systems.
- Financial experience in healthcare.
- Professional CPA or Accounting background.

|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $65,223 - $82,964. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
