Position Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced L3 Desktop Engineer to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and supporting Windows and macOS desktop systems, hardware, and software within an enterprise environment. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, managing desktop infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, and providing exceptional support to end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

System Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS desktop systems and applications.
  • Manage on-premises Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) integrations, ensuring seamless identity and access management.
  • Manage software distribution, patch management, and compliance monitoring using tools like SCCM and Intune.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of desktop systems.
Advanced Technical Support:
  • Provide Level 3 support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Endpoint Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and manage endpoint security solutions, including antivirus and encryption.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and security standards.
  • Monitor and maintain patch compliance.
Automation and Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment and software distribution using PowerShell and Bash.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency.
Cloud and Identity Management:
  • Administer Azure AD and support Office 365 services.
  • Integrate on-premises AD with cloud-based services for a hybrid infrastructure.
Documentation:
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for desktop systems and processes.
  • Create knowledge base articles for troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in desktop support or engineering.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows and macOS environments including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, Azure Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Proficiency with desktop management tools just has SCCM, Intune and JAMF.
  • Strong scripting skills with PowerShell and Bash for automation and process improvement.
  • Experience with endpoint security solutions and a strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
