Production Associate 1st Shift

1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm (4 by 10 shift)

Pay Range: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees
• Overtime required

• Experience in manufacturing or installing windows preferred
• Knowledge of manual dexterity required for operating machinery
• Must be a "team player", this job requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout detailed written or oral instructions

Mental/Physical/Visual Demands

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand
• The employee is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; turning or twisting; pushing; and talk or hear
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Must be able to pass a background check

Working Conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the average plant temperature conditions range from 60 in the cooler months and up to 100 during the warmer months
• All workstations on the plant floor require the use of protective eyewear, hearing protection, and safety-toe and/or metatarsal shoes. Some workstations require additional personal protective equipment, to include but not limited to gloves, arm guards, and leather aprons

• Required to wear or use personal protective equipment as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditions
