Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a AF Wing Command and Control Test Engineer for the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, supporting the Astrion Air Force Division.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

TRAVEL: 20%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's degree in a technical domain or additional years of qualifying experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience, or additional years' experience for degree substitution
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance for consideration with eligibility for a Top Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
  • Experience with Wing C2 functions and working in a Wing Operations Center (WOC)
  • Experience interfacing with AOC, A-Staff, Major Command, and Numbered Air Force personnel, as well as lateral and subordinate operation centers (i.e. MOC)
  • Experience with the Lead Wing concept and Lead Wing functions
  • Expertise in receiving, planning, and executing Air Tasking Orders (ATO) developed by the AOC
  • Knowledge of Mission Type Orders (MTOs) and Mission Reporting (MISREPs)
  • Experience interfacing with multiple stakeholders regarding project scope, status, schedules, and required documentation
  • Effective oral and written communications skills, good interpersonal communications skills and be comfortable working in a team environment
  • High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Office 365 products to include Word, Excel PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience working in a deployed Wing Operations Center and mobile command center equipment requirements
  • Experience with Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) desired
  • Working knowledge of Medusa and Counter UAS systems a plus
  • Prior work experience in Operational Test (OT)
  • Proficient using Confluence as a team workspace and collaboration tool
  • In-depth knowledge of DAFI 99-103, Capabilities-Based Test and Evaluation

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate and develop test requirements for, and coordinate with, complex test projects including Command and Control system testing
  • Provide strategic test guidance, advice and expertise to internal 96 CTG personnel, supported program office personnel and senior leadership for test projects
  • Provide detailed analysis of courses of action (COAs) for test projects, analyze and make recommendations for improvements and optimization of test projects to program offices
  • Provide test customer specific expertise on test design and test-influenced product design
  • Provide cross domain expertise to test customers to optimize their utilization of test resources and improve their ability to provide complete functionality to fielded products
  • Organize and interpret data to inform DOD decision makers, turns data into actionable knowledge; drive successful operations and shape organization technology and resource investments
  • Research advanced capabilities and offer solutions to the customers' most complex and challenging problems
  • Support test engineers when interacting with System Program Offices, other military services, and development contractors
