Die Caster - 2nd & 3rd Shift Join ABB and work in a team that is dedicated to creating a future where innovative digital technologies allow greater access to cleaner energy.
This position reports to

Production Manager

Your role and responsibilities

*Operate die cast robot & die cast machine in a work cell to cast a quality product and follow work instructions
*Cleans flash, runner, flow pads off for assigned machines and hand trim
*Inspects castings to ensure there are no defects
*Perform machine start up checks
*Assist with die changes repair and part issues
*Communicate with other operators to discuss any problems
*Clean die cast machine and surrounding area on a daily basis
*Prepares appropriate paper work associated with die cast machine
*Identify and order appropriate supplies, parts, and tools as needed
*Place safety in the workplace above all else. Report any safety concerns.
*Daily housekeeping and paperwork
*Work overtime as needed
*Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the role
  • Education and Experience Needed:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • 6 months of Industrial type experience or in lieu of industrial experience will consider military service
  • Die Cast experience highly desired
  • Mechanical aptitude highly desired
  • Specialized skills or other requirements:
  • Steady work history
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Adaptable to change and ability to cross-train
  • Detailed oriented
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Physical Demands:
  • Able to perform job tasks in hot and/or cold working conditions
  • Standing for long periods of time, lifting, reaching, twisting and bending, May be required to lift up to 10 lbs. at a frequency of up to 40 times per hour. Occasional lifting up to 55 lbs.
  • Able to work with and around hot parts
  • Must be able to follow workplace safety procedures and use the personal protective equipment required
  • Able to work 40hrs a week and required overtime
  • Ability to think independently while successfully functioning in a team environment
