Position Description:


Ryerson has an opportunity for a Technical Sales Representative (Long Product). As a Technical Sales Representative, you are responsible for growing transactional sales, customer relationships and building sustainable territories within the Pacific Multi-Market.

Roles and Responsibility:

* Drives long product growth in the Pacific Multi-Market
* Demonstrates technical expertise for the Pacific sales team and customers during the sales process.
* Collaborates with the sales team to demonstrate the organization's value proposition to leaders or key decision makers at prospective client companies.
* Serves as a subject-matter expert, recommending stocked products and services to meet customers' requirements in coordination with Supply Chain and General Managers. Investigates new applications or alternate products with customers.
* Guide the service center and regional sales/product management to develop quotations and contract proposals that are responsive to customer needs and result in profitable sales. Works in conjunction with the mills if necessary.
* Champions large target accounts throughout the Multi-Market.
* Lead product and application training for sales representatives.
* Understands and reviews the competitive environment and provides market intelligence to sales management to shape service center sales strategies, price levels and working capital decisions

Position Requirements:


* Minimum of 7-10 years of product management or sales experience in the metals industry
* Bachelor's degree
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Experience with SAP preferred
* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Problem-solving/conflict resolution skills
