Base Pay Range: $91,500.00 - $155,600.00 Annually Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits identified below. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Mechanical design of parts and assemblies using Creo and/or SolidWorks and generate drawings with GD&T for wafer chucks, wafer positioning stages, and related tooling
  • Conduct design reviews, procure prototypes, and oversee vendors for various parts and assemblies
  • Drive prototype testing, system integration, stage servo tuning and handoff to manufacturing
  • Test and qualify stages to ensure they meet performance & reliability requirements
  • Perform analysis and simulations, such as structural, thermal, vibration/modal FEAs, motor current/voltage/power calculations, etc.
  • Create documents and procedure for manufacturing/assembly of various systems
  • Collaborate with other engineering groups such as controls engineers, systems engineers and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration and to optimize performance
Must have:
  • Experience in mechanical design/solid modeling
  • Proficient in Creo/SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling tools
  • Proficient in structural, thermal, and vibration/modal FEA
  • DFM experience with machining, sheet metals, and castings
  • Knowledge of analysis tools such as Python or Matlab
Nice to have:
  • Experience implementing various types of rotary bearings/linear guides and/or air bearings
  • Design experience of X,Y sub-micron positioning stages
  • Experience in vibration optimization and design for high stiffness to weight ratio
  • Vibration and modal testing using accelerometers, impact hammer, etc.
  • Semiconductor capital equipment design experience
  • Experience with implementation/use of high-resolution feedback devices such as optical encoders and laser interferometer
  • Motion control and servo tuning

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years
