The Role: As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will join our LaVergne Plant and support for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes; develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Plans and directs continuous improvement activities in support of development, application, and maintenance of quality standards. Your Responsibilities:
- Identifies, develops and implements continuous improvement projects to improve operating efficiencies, reduce scrap, increase throughput and eliminate waste while ensuring safety and quality performance are achieved.
- Utilizes Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Works collaboratively with all departments in the development and implementation of lean principles accurately identifying and documenting improvements.
- Participates in the development of continuous improvement metrics, lean strategy and execution plans.
- Provides guidance to employees, facilitates events utilizing Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive improvements across all business functions using appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods.
- Monitors, tracks, and reports on the progress of planned improvement events and implementation to ensure timely action, appropriate support, and achievement of expected benefits and results.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Directs workers engaged in measuring, testing, and tabulating data concerning quality and reliability.
- Develops and implements training for continuous improvement and related quality control activities.
- Recommends revisions and updates for standard operating procedures and work instructions as needed.
- Develops quality control and inspection test plans as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; and/or a minimum of 5 years directly related training and/or experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to build teams, collaborate with subject matter experts (SME) to influence outcomes; demonstrated record of implementing and inspiring a continuous improvement culture.
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interface across shared services, functional areas and business operations at all levels of the organization using strong communication, collaboration, facilitation and influencing skills.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, and skills including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- ASQ Quality Assurance Engineer and Six Sigma certification preferred
