The University of Georgia is soliciting applications for a Wildlife Technician to assist with research and management of invasive wild pigs and coyotes on a remote barrier island off the coast of Georgia in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. A technician is needed to assist with an ongoing wild pig eradication and monitoring project aiming to protect high priority and threatened species, including sea turtles and nesting shorebirds. The selected candidate will be responsible for trapping and removing wild pigs and coyotes, radio collaring wild pigs, conducting remote camera surveys, and assisting with data collection and other research/management activities associated with this project. Housing will be provided at Blackbeard Island National Wildlife Refuge, and during days off housing will be provided on Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.
