Job Summary:



Join an established group of 5 dedicated academic medical oncologists and 3 genitourinary (GU) advanced practice providers at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Seeking a clinician researcher with dedicated clinical and research time allocation; any aligned research focus areas (drug/device development, patient outcomes, population/epidemiology, laboratory based, etc.) are welcome. The genitourinary oncology clinic is a multi-disciplinary clinical environment with medical oncologists, urologic oncologists, and radiation oncologists, providing advanced treatment approaches for urological cancer including prostate, bladder, kidney and testis cancer.

The Division of Medical Oncology consists of a diverse group of clinicians and basic science faculty members along with clinical trainees, research laboratory technicians, administrative assistants and administrators. The mission of the Division of Medical Oncology is to provide optimal medical care, perform cutting-edge research, provide first rate oncology education, optimize clinical/basic science collaboration, and to provide outstanding resources for the support of these activities. The divisional staff supports the ongoing research, clinical and educational activities of the division.

The position will primarily report to the Division Head of Medical Oncology. They will also report to the Clinical Medical Director for clinical matters and to the GU Medical Oncology Research Director relating to research coordination.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide outstanding medical oncology clinical care. Attend in the GU oncology clinic 2 days a week. The time in clinic may be variable based on research funding levels and other responsibilities. Attend in the weekly multidisciplinary GU oncology clinic on a rotating basis. Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential records.
  • Advance the research mission of the GU medical oncology group at the University of Colorado. Research areas include but are not limited to drug/device development, patient outcomes research, population and epidemiology research, laboratory-based research, or other applicable areas. Support the clinical trial efforts of the GU oncology group.
  • Attend on the inpatient oncology service on a rotating basis. Supervise plan of care, procedures, tests and consultation ordering by Housestaff. Share on call weekend rotation.
  • Participate in the training of medial students, residents and medical oncology fellows.
  • Participate in appropriate educational, divisional, departmental and GU oncology conferences and meetings.
  • Participate as a team member in providing healthcare, interacting with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care.



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor:



  • Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution in U.S., or equivalent, if a non-U.S. graduate, must complete ECFMG certification & be qualified to obtain a temporary CO Medical license.
  • Eligible to be credentialed by the institutional processes established for oversight for advanced professional medical practice.
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible, or board certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology.


Associate Professor:



  • Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution in U.S., or equivalent, if a non-U.S. graduate, must complete ECFMG certification & be qualified to obtain a temporary CO Medical license.
  • Eligible to be credentialed by the institutional processes established for oversight for advanced professional medical practice.
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology.
  • 4-8 years of experience and achievement in clinical activity, research, and education.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Specialized clinical training or experience in GU oncology.
  • Past research and publication record in GU oncology.
  • Track record in working with a multi-disciplinary GU oncology team
  • Excellent clinical skills pertaining to medical oncology

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant: $200,000-250,000

Associate: $235,000-315,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
