Working TitleEvent Facilities Attendant Pay$15.00 Hourly CampusTaos DepartmentTaos Branch Employment TypeStudent Employment Student TypeWork-Study StatusNon-Exempt Background Check RequiredNo For Best Consideration Date10/18/2024 Position Summary * Set up and breakdown event floor plans, for scheduled events, that are held at either the UNM-Taos Klauer Campus and/or at Bataan Hall. o Ensure that the requested floor plan is set up properly, including that the tables, chairs, and linens are set up in accordance with the Client's requested floor plan. o Once the event has concluded the chairs and tables must be broken down and returned to their place of origin. o Responsible for transporting used linens to Clean Taos for laundry, fold and press services and picking up the clean linens and returning them to the storage area. * Assist with the Audio-Visual needs for scheduled events. o Charge Gooseneck and handheld microphones (at Bataan). o Ensure proper storage is complied with for all UNM-Taos audio-visual equipment. o Any identified repairs or maintenance issues must be reported to both the IT and Events Department. o Assist the client/faculty/staff with projector use when they are utilizing the audio-visual system at the UNM-Taos Klauer Campus or at Bataan Hall. o Assist with any troubleshooting needs regarding connectivity issues, sound, and digital presentations. * Ensure high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas where events are hosted. o Communicates any areas of need, problems, and concerns about cleanliness, safety, or guest satisfaction to the Events Planner. * Transports, loads, and unloads items needed for events both at Bataan Hall and at the UNM-Taos Klauer Campus (this may include community events like Graduation, Spring Fling and Fall Fest). o On occasion, may pick up, transport, and or setup catering orders. * On occasion, may serve as the point of contact which will require unlocking a venue, securing the building at the conclusion of a scheduled event and adjusting the lights, sound, volumes and temperature. Minimum Qualifications Equivalencies not found for this position Preferred Qualifications * Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. (Job requires considerable physical work including heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.) o Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job. o Good mobility and the ability to stand for long periods is required. o Ability to read, understand, follow instructions and enforce safety procedures. o Preference for experience with Audio-Visual Systems, hospitality services and dealing with the public in a professional manner.
