Position Summary

Take digital intra-oral and extra oral radiographic imaging (e.g. cone beam computed tomography, and bitewing, periapical, occlusal and panoramic views in analog/film and digital/plate/sensor formats). Review radiographs within guidelines. Process and route imaging related materials. Greet, screen and direct patients. Confirm patient is authorized for a radiographic examination. Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental students. Assign patients to dental students, within guidelines. Monitor collection of instruments; dispense supplies, disposable materials, instrument and equipment. Maintain cleanliness of the work area and quality and safety standards; ensure proper recycling, disposal of infectious materials and adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance.

Please note this position requires a CDA # (Certified Dental Assistant) or RDA # (Registered Dental Assistant)



Qualifications

Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree Dental Hygiene

Required Experience:
2+ years of related experience. Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program. Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA or RDA required).

Preferred Experience:
2+ years chairside assisting in a private practice

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of four-handed chairside dental techniques and dental lab equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
NYSDOH approved CBCT training for dental assistants. Valid New York State Radiology Technology license or Dental Hygiene license.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $36.900. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
