The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) is home to nationally recognized programs focused on health and wellness - and a respected faculty dedicated to teaching innovations and research partnerships. The college offers accredited programs in athletic training, communication sciences and disorders, physical therapy, and social work. CHPS also offers one of UCF's largest majors, health sciences, as well as popular programs in sport and exercise science within the field of kinesiology. Through coursework, field experience, and inter-professional education, our students develop high-demand skills in healthcare and cultural competency for working with varied populations.

The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Health Professions and Sciences is seeking well-qualified candidates for a Space Utilization Coordinator II position. The Space Utilization Coordinator II will serve as the College of Health Professions and Sciences Building Manager and will coordinate with UCF Facilities Operations, manage the process of work orders, and serve as a liaison on construction projects. This position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining emergency management protocols for the college's primary buildings. This position will oversee space, property, and assets, and manage keys, and surplus processes for the college. The Space Utilization Coordinator II will assist, on a semester basis, the deans, and department chairs with the development and coordination of the master schedule of classes for the college.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop, and maintain the academic master schedule for the college. Coordinate and maintain requests for space for classes, faculty and staff meetings, and other college events.

  • Responsible for updating courses in the PeopleSoft system and assisting department administrators in resolving registration issues related to PeopleSoft and the course scheduling system. Provide training and academic support on reports and scheduling applications. Ensure notification of schedule changes and updates are effectively communicated with departments and administrators as appropriate.

  • Serve as the college's Building Manager, liaising with facilities, managing the process of work orders and construction, and any other related functions. Lift objects, and tolerate dust and related work environments as part of managing space and facilities.

  • Serve as property custodian for all college property. Track property and assets, manage keys, and handle the surplus process for the college to dispose of unwanted property.

  • Oversee the setup of classrooms and functions in the college as needed for classes and events.

  • Manage safety and security of HS1 and HS2 buildings. Maintain and program security access to secure spaces and labs as well exterior doors to HS1 and HS2 buildings through the DNA fusion software system. Develop, coordinate, and maintain emergency safety plans for HS1 and HS2 buildings.

  • Interpret University policy and develop college procedures for implementing space allocation. Mediate and negotiate with college leaders about the scheduling of available university space. Serve as a liaison for the college to the Registrar's Office for the purpose of course and room scheduling.

  • Represent the college on committees deemed essential to the coordination of academic course schedules, facilities, and space management. Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in managing and coordinating all aspects of building-related projects, classroom spaces, and facilities.

  • Experience in coordinating academic class schedules and room reservations.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, working as a team member, and motivating others.
