Medical Technician (EMT) Starting Pay $16.50 Summary: The EMT's primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; responding to calls, and transporting patients to medical facilities. In addition, they assist in providing care to the patients. Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Qualities for an EMT: - Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with both internal field staff and external customers - Maintain a calm and professional demeanor - Administer basic life support to patients - Communicate with medical personnel at treatment facilities - Demonstrate familiarity with company service areas and medical facilities - Possess exceptional knowledge of service area geography, roadways and traffic patterns - Demonstrate compliance with all Company and customer policies and procedures as they pertain to the coordination of patient care/transport - Must possess the ability to efficiently multi-task and work independently as well as within a team Demonstrate the ability to professionally "control" difficult interactions and effectively direct the flow of the conversation - Operate ambulances safely and abide by all laws - Monitor all equipment and provide updates to dispatch - The ability to remain extremely focused in a sometimes turbulent/chaotic environment - Maintain a clean, professional appearance of vehicles, equipment, and person - Assist with providing information for investigations of incidents as required - Punctual attendance with scheduled hours and willingness to work OT when necessary - Ability to maintain confidential information in a manner consistent with applicable laws including but not limited to HIPPA -Perform other duties as assigned by management Position Requirements: - High school graduate - Valid AZ Driver's License - Satisfactory driving record in accordance with ABC Ambulance's Driving Policy - Current state EMT certification - Current CPR pro certification card - Knowledge of the Phoenix Valley - Exceptional customer service skills - The ability to multitask - Understand basic math - Proficient with PC's, mobile technology, and computer software and applications - Polite and professional - Ability to utilize time/resources well - Reliability and Teamwork a must - Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing - Safety conscious - Frequent ability to lift, carry, push, and pull greater than 100 pounds without assistance - Intermittent climbing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling - Moderate exposure to weather, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, noise intensity level, darkness/poor lighting, confined spaced, dirt/dust, odors, and other environmental conditions
