Position Summary The Director of Operations & Administration provides administrative leadership to Tandon's Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department and will report to the Department Chair. Provide strategic direction for ECE administrative and academic operations and partner with the Department Chair to execute the department's strategic vision, determine goals and outcomes on various issues, including operational matters, and develop and implement changes to procedural policies. Oversees administration of academics and business operations, including administrative and strategic planning. Oversees faculty appointment processes, including onboarding, tenure reviews, and reappointments. Ensures organizational effectiveness through efficient delivery of quality and timely services, coordinates complex administrative matters, resolves escalated issues, drives a culture of administrative excellence, and champions diversity and inclusivity throughout the department. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area Preferred Education: Master's Degree Required Experience: 7+ years progressive administrative experience and responsibilities in a highly matrixed organization (e.g., directing administrative services/processes, budgets, and staff) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience support academic and/or research organizations. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent leadership, planning, management, networking, and presentation skills Ability to negotiate solutions to resolve problems and persuade others when some differences of opinion may exist Must demonstrate the ability to work as a team member; to think creatively; and to evaluate existing processes and procedures Must have strong and polished written and oral communication skills The position demands significant attention to detail, effective communications, team collaboration, and occasional work on weekends Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and knowledge of other PC programs Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $125,000.00 to USD $165,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
