Position Summary Provide advising throughout the financial aid process to prospective, new and current students and their families. Exercise independent judgment in the management of operational details of financial aid processes involving direct interaction with students. Provide guidance and communication to students accordingly. Review incoming financial aid application and any supporting documentation needed to determine the accuracy of the financial and household information reported on the FAFSA. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required Experience: 2+ years relevant experience in a financial aid and student services environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience: Financial aid counseling experience. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Commitment and ability to provide excellent customer service to students. Significant knowledge of Title IV and institutional financial aid processes and systems. Ability to monitor and adhere to policy and procedures. Ability to use technology and information systems to support work and develop data (PeopleSoft, CampusLogic, ImageNow, IDOC, ServiceLink, Cisco etc.). Must have a thorough knowledge of available types of financial aid, scholarships and general student eligibility criteria. Use of Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $74,360.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
