Join an agile highly motivated team of engineers responsible for the development and implementation of emerging autonomous technology for use in ground combat vehicles. The function of this position is to support the development of advanced autonomous capabilities across the domains of mobility, situational awareness, reconnaissance, human-machine integration, and operational mission planning & execution. Product teams work together using the latest advances in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Model Based Systems Engineering to bring these concepts to reality.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Responsible for planning and execution of Integration Project Team (IPT) scope, budget, schedule, technical work planning, tracking, and transfer of technology & software from advanced development team.
  • Responsible for subcontractor management, ensuring they adhere to schedule and deliveries
  • Participate in development and presentation of design reviews
  • IPT scope:
    • System / Subsystem requirements development
    • Functional capability traceability and verification compliance (RVTM)
    • Cross domain coordination of scope/technical content
    • Review, understand and execute XM30 program CDRLs (Document and Software Deliveries)
    • Identification and maturity assessment of autonomous vehicle technologies
    • Technical writing, to include contributing to CDRLs and technical reports
    • System Modeling of autonomous vehicle functions which include:
      • Mobility assistance thru autonomous mobility, advanced driver aids, and mobility safety functions
      • Manned/Unmanned Teaming
      • Task reduction thru system automation
      • System redundancy in support of safety-assured and mission-assured functionality
      • Autonomy system technology transition, optimization, integration, and verification/validation


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree (Masters preferred) in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years related engineering experience
  • Skilled in planning work to achieve milestones on a schedule
  • Knowledgeable in systems engineering concepts
  • Experience with technical program management for complex systems
  • Experience in system modeling using Cameo (or similar SysML tools)
  • Ability to align objectives with a cross functional team
  • Familiar with high level autonomous robotic system concepts
  • Familiar with sensor modalities and their strengths & drawbacks
  • Familiarity with architectures, development and integration of robotic/autonomous vehicles
  • Experience with vehicle autonomy, off-road autonomy a plus
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office and other engineering software
  • Be goal oriented and keep the team focused to task.
  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
  • This position may require the candidate to be able toclimb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired.Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space).
  • The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends as needed by the project.
  • Ability to travel when needed, minimal travel required for this role.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of military land vehicle engineering, especially at GDLS, is a plus
  • Strong background in high level programming language such as C & C++
  • Expertise working with Linux (Ubuntu).
  • Expertise in networking, communication, and interface technologies and protocols - CAN, TCP, UDP, DDS, MAVLink, JAUS, IOP, etc.
