This opportunity is in the Credit Risk Department.

Our Credit Risk department manages our workers' compensation surety bond product offering, while supporting our large deductible and large casualty product offerings that require customer financial analysis. With access to the robust S&P CaptialQ Platform, our credit risk underwriters have the latest cutting-edge technology to assist in our financial and credit risk analysis. Role Description:

In the role of Senior Credit Risk Underwriter position you will underwrite the financial/credit risk associated with Safety National's (SN) Large Casualty (LC) insurance products and SN's Self-Insured Workers' Compensation (WC) Surety Bond (Bond) products. This financial/credit risk analysis is performed primarily through an extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluation of prospective or existing customers financial statements.

Some of the essential functions of this role are:



  • Perform financial reviews/assessments on prospective and existing customers. These reviews require an understanding of a customer's fiscal year and interim financial statement results as well as an understanding the potential account claim/credit risk exposures.
  • Document quantitative and qualitative financial factors that support the collateral underwriting decision and terms created.
  • Formally issue the collateral quote terms to SN's LC Underwriters and WC Bond brokers. Collateral quote terms can consist of -- dollar amount of collateral required, acceptable type(s) of collateral, pricing/credit risk charges, bond rate charges, and Indemnity Agreement
  • Primary point of contact for questions and discussion around collateral quote terms with SN LC Underwriters, SN Business Development, and external brokers of both LC and WC Bond

Qualifications:

Education:



  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics is required


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
  • 3 to 7 years of applicable financial/credit underwriting experience
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated ability to perform at a high performance, detailed orientated, and a team first skill set level.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and multi-task while working with others to meet set timeframes
  • Experience working in the S&P CapitalIQ suite/platform is a plus
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
