IT Network Administration and Automation Engineer - SolarWinds Platform
The role of IT Network SolarWinds and Automation Administrator - is responsible for the installation, configuration, and day-to-day administrative tasks required to support network infrastructure operations. This includes the design and implementation of network monitoring and administration solutions. The role will also focus on information collection and report development of wired/wireless network and network security infrastructure based on system requirements and advanced troubleshooting of these implementations in a distributed environment.
This is a hands-on operational role with shared on-call responsibilities, maintaining SLAs for the infrastructure supporting Niagara's critical business applications hosted in the datacenters and remote manufacturing facilities.
Essential Functions
- Maintain SolarWinds observability platform with hands-on experience on installation, configuration & administration of modules like NPM, NCM and NTA.
- Create SolarWinds dashboards, facility dependencies maps and device utilization matrices.
- Leverage orchestration tools like Cisco DNAC & SolarWinds to identify deficiencies and implement optimization strategies for improved network efficiency and end-user experience.
- Create and maintain scripts that run queries on the SolarWinds database providing efficient performance and optimized network health
- Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching technologies with emphasis on EIGRP and BGP.
- Execute implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems.
- Track record with automating operational procedures using scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
- Document monitoring and administration architectures.
- Knowledge of integration with SQL a plus.
- Software Defined Network Technologies & Concepts a plus.
- Execute tasks associated with departmental projects to ensure timely completion.
- Provide operational status updates to IT Management team when needed.
- Participate in the development of architecture design and integration with existing IT infrastructure via APIs.
- Monitor and maintain IT environment to ensure SLAs are met, and issues are properly escalated.
- Align tactical objectives with other IT teams.
- Understand how tactical goals and projects align to departmental budget.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 Years - Experience in SolarWinds Platform installation, configuration, and administration
- 4 Years - Experience in SolarWinds Automation
- 2 Year - Experience managing projects
- On average travels 1 week out of the month

$96,309.20 - $139,648.35 / Yearly
