The Utility Operator is responsible for supporting production and performing general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:



  • Comply with safety policies and practices and participate in the plant Safety Program.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and all team members and equipment through daily 5S, housekeeping activities, vehicle safety checks and report all unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Ability to work any shift including 12-hour shifts, weekend shifts, holidays, maintenance days, etc.
  • Provide accurate reporting of safety, quality, production, and efficiency.
  • Work with team members to make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Operate and/or work around highly automated systems including robotic equipment.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and housekeeping tasks on the bailer and receiving dock.
  • Manage recycling streams for 2-Piece and 3-Piece departments to include generating BOLs for scrap pickups as needed.
  • Clean a variety of machines and equipment, ranging from large stationary equipment to small mobile equipment.
  • Shall understand the Food Safety Policy, GMP's, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard.
  • Ensure coils are unwrapped and ready to be consumed for the 2-Piece department.
  • Complete general plant housekeeping as needed to include operating the floor scrubber.
  • Perform production put away of finished goods as needed.

Education and/or Experience:



  • High School diploma or GED required.



Computer Skills:



  • Basic computer skills required



Other Skills and Abilities:



  • Team member must be punctual and reliable.
  • Fork truck and floor scrubber certified

The noise level in the work environment is very loud. Team members must wear hearing protection and all other assigned personal protective equipment. Temperature can range from extreme cold (<40 degrees) to extreme heat (>95 degrees). The atmosphere contains fumes, dust, and odors.
