We are excited to add a Senior Accounting Manager to our Finance & Accounting team! The position will pay between $137,000-$165,000k based on previous relevant experience, educational credentials, and location.

The Senior Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and bear primary responsibility for maintaining the company's accounting records. This includes the management of the Company's accounting close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries necessary to reflect the Company's financial position and results from operations, the implementation and oversight of processes to support the organization's accounting needs, oversight and ownership of the Company's control processes and environment as they relate to the general ledger, and serving as a primary liaison between the accounting organization and the Company's financial statement auditors with respect to accounting-related PBCs. The Senior Accounting Manager will direct and supervise various Staff and Senior Accountants.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Company's month-end accounting close process, including the generation and inputting of journal entries to support reporting needs, and account reconciliations to verify account balances.
  • Provide certain and accounting and reporting data to the Company's finance department monthly to support internal reporting needs.
  • Prepare certain supporting schedules for the Company's various SEC filings.
  • Carry out certain control procedures and establish an effective control environment to support the Company's SOX compliance efforts.
  • Identify and implement processes to improve the execution of current accounting tasks or address new accounting risks.
  • Direct, train, and supervise various Staff and Senior Accountants.
  • Maintain the Company's chart of accounts in a manner that supports the Company's various reporting needs.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the Company and the Company's auditors for accounting-related support.
  • Devise and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to complement or supplant current manual processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments on an as-needed basis for ad hoc projects.


Qualifications

Education and Experience
Required

A successful candidate will have the following education and experience:



  • BS or BA in Accounting or related field.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience.
  • CPA License
  • Familiarity of the full suite of Microsoft Office software solutions, particularly Microsoft Excel.


Preferred

Preference will be given to those candidates who have the following characteristics:



  • Experience in public accounting, particularly the Big 4.
  • Familiarity with QAD.
  • Familiarity with computer programming languages, such as Python or R.
