Job Summary:

The certified medical assistant will work as the front access to the MJM Center in conjunction with the full MJM staff. The MA will answer the MJM center phone line as well as contact any online appointment submission requests, answering any routine questions. Coordinates with insurance providers and patients to ensure all necessary referrals are obtained.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • HS Diploma
  • Certified Medical Assistant

Preferred:

  • 1 year experience

Scheduling Requirements:

  • FT Days

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains health record information, files and organizes as needed.
  • Performs basic clerical functions such as copying, scanning, and faxing.
  • Establishes and maintains communication with physician practices, schools, patients, and various institutions.
  • Assists in executing established program policies and procedures and assumes responsibility for maintaining program standards.
  • Assists with the promotion of the MJM Center and its services.
  • Assists with community cardiac and concussion screenings in varying locations as needed.
  • Complies with departmental scheduling guidelines, promotes prompt and consistent services, and incorporates patients rights.
  • Flexibility and willingness to cover all shifts.
  • Competent in providing patient education on program screenings, services, and follow up procedures.
  • Supports athletic concierge services within the MJM Center under the administrative director and management team, with flexibility to support centralized access for triage of athletic injuries within both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Demonstrate speed and efficiency as well as flexibility in the provisions of care, utilizing effective critical thinking skills when monitoring outcomes of patient care under the direction of the management team
  • Utilize effective communication skills with direct management team, managing and/or referring physicians, athletic trainers, sport contracts, schools, and supportive clinical staff for effective management of clinical cases and effective patient outcomes that support all HRO principals
