Your role and responsibilities

In this role as the subject matter expert in credit risk matters, the Regional Credit Manager - US & Canada (RCM) oversees the Credit Risk Management across the entire Order-to-Cash process and serve as the interface to Global, and Cluster/Local management to provide the best view possible of the credit risk profiles of 3rd party customers to make informed decisions.
The work model for the role is preferred to be onsite in the Cary, NC office (or other main hubs in the US such as Memphis or Houston).
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Leading the regional organization with direct reporting from all Cluster Credit Managers (CCMs) assigned to clusters of countries within respective regions. RCM reports directly to the Head of Global Credit Risk Management (GCRM) and contributes to the development and execution of GCRM's strategy.
- Ensuring optimal credit risk profile of third-party customer portfolio (including active and potential new third-party customers, guarantors and consortium partners) by taking responsibility, for credit risk assessments and reviews, outlining risk mitigation requirements (if any), to Business Divisions to make informed decisions.
- Serving as an escalation point for the team to drive consistency and help with roadblocks in preparing and coordinating the credit risk assessment process, including reviewing the due diligence, and presenting to senior management conclusions and recommendations from credit risk perspective.
- Taking the lead in establishing a collaborative network within the region and also O2C COE, Business divisions and other O2C workstreams to ensure all credit risk topics are addressed and mitigated, as needed.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or similar
  • Proven work experience as Credit Manager or more than 10 years of relevant experience in fundamental credit risk analysis of corporations and financial companies, or project risk management. Financial Acumen.
  • Experience in implementing, managing, monitoring and reporting for large processes and projects.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP system environments
  • Fluency in English and sound knowledge of local language(s) of the country(ies) of responsibility.
  • Previous experience in an international environment is an advantage.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
