Position Summary UNM Los Alamos anticipates hiring Temporary Part-Time faculty to teach on-line and/or face-to-face Welding courses at the 100 or 200 level. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Summer 2024 semester. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offering. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Applicants hired from this requisition will be considered for the next requisition. Anticipated openings to include the following subjects: Basic Welding, GMAW, MIG, TIG, and arc welding, blueprint reading, NCCER core UNM-Los Alamos is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico located approximately 90 miles northwest of Albuquerque. UNM-Los Alamos emphasizes teaching excellence and offers academic transfer courses, as well as vocational and technical courses to the citizens of Los Alamos County and northern New Mexico. UNM-LA instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting with the class during assigned times, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the Program Coordinator. Applicants must be available to teach face-to-face classes in Los Alamos at least once per week. Wages Adjunct Faculty in the UNM LOS ALAMOS CAMPUS are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads, as follows: Credentials Rate per Credit Hour Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Five years welding experience with MIG, TIG and SMAW technologies Preferred Qualifications: 1. Professional welding certifications (AWS or ASME) 2. Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution 3. College degree relevant to the welding discipline 4. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities. 5.
