SUMMARY:

The Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness in care of the critically ill patient. Promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient health problems. The role of the Lead APP includes direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/ group/community advocacy to holistically care for complex patient care needs. Serves as a member of the critical care and/or acute care team with the primary responsibility of managing a caseload of critical care and/or acute care patients under the supervision of a physician. In addition to providing care outlined, the Lead APP will have direct oversight for assigned APP team.

Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse. OR Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant by the National Board of Medical Examiners, or, the Academy of Physician's Assistants
  • Two (2) or more years of experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or two (2) years serving as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is required.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Physician's Assistant, specializing in critical care services for in-patient setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced
