What does the Director Logistics Automation Engineering do at Swire Coca-Cola?

Swire Coca-Cola is looking for a passionate, influential, eager leader for the Director Logistics Automation Engineering role. As a key player you will shape the future of our logistics operations by strategically enhancing and refining our networks to achieve excellence. With a proactive mindset and collaboration, you will lead the adoption of advanced engineering solutions that refine our warehousing infrastructure, drive initiatives to incorporate cutting-edge technologies, and increase sustainable practices into our warehouse and transportation systems. Being agile is essential in navigating the challenges of a rapidly evolving market, implementing changes that significantly enhance operational capability, and reduce environmental impact.


Responsibilities:



  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Craft and execute a comprehensive strategic blueprint for scaling operations and enhancing efficiencies across the board that is tightly aligned with the company's overarching logistics management objectives
  • Technology Leadership: Leadership is crucial in transforming warehouse operations, transportation, and distribution processes to increase productivity and reduce costs through active evaluation, selection, and deployment of state-of-the-art technologies and automation systems
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assessing and refining processes, applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to eliminate inefficiencies and optimize workflow to ensure processes stay ahead of industry standards and deliver substantial value
  • Project Management: Collaborate closely with Logistics Project Management team to manage a portfolio of engineering projects including timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Forge and maintain robust collaboration with Logistics leadership and other cross functional team members to integrate engineering solutions that bolster the company's broader business goals and operational synergy
  • Vendor Management: Strategically select and oversee relationships with external vendors, consultants, and engineering firms; ensure all partners align with the company's stringent standards and contribute effectively to our projects and strategic objectives
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Collaborate in driving sustainability efforts within our logistics operations, contribute to initiatives that focus on reducing energy consumption, CO2 reduction, and minimizing waste
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and assess potential project risks and technical vulnerabilities through development and implementation of robust mitigation strategies to safeguard project outcomes and maintain continuity of operations



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or closely related field required
  • Master's Degree Engineering or closely related field preferred
  • 10+ years Logistics or Supply Chain Management experience required
  • 5 years managing engineering projects required
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Process optimization experience using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience implementing energy, CO2 and waste reduction initiatives preferred
