Job Description

Exciting opportunity at MSK: Join our team as an Editor/Grant Writer! We're looking for a dynamic professional to support faculty in the Departments of Medicine and Surgery as a member of Editorial and grant Writing Services team.

Role Overview:

    Create and maintain work plans for federal and foundation grant proposals and edit all grant components.
  • Edit, coordinate, and submit grant applications and manuscripts to journals under tight deadlines.
  • Work closely with physician-scientists and other research staff to ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
  • Draft letters of support for grants and letters of recommendation for service chiefs.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in substantive editing, grants and/or project management, publishing, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the submission of NIH grants is required.
  • American Medical Writers Association, Board of Editors in the Life Sciences, or University of Chicago Medical Writing & Editing Program certification (preferred).

Core Skills:

  • Ability to understand and communicate complex information.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in bibliographic/reference management software (i.e., EndNote), Office 365, and teleconferencing systems. Knowledge of PowerPoint, Acrobat Writer, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator useful.
  • An interest in or familiarity with clinical research.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving to ensure unforeseen issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact across all levels in a confident, professional manner.
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to MSK's vision, mission and values.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Fully remote role with no on-site time, consistent with the overall unit. An individual may request for a hybrid option to allow some travel to campus.

Pay Range: $73,900 - $114,400

Learn more about Editorial and Grants Services (EGS): We are a team of editors and project managers who provide wide-ranging, "soup-to-nuts" support for grant applications, journal articles, and other academic projects. EGS supports investigators in the Departments of Surgery and Medicine, and via collaborative research, has interactions across Memorial Sloan Kettering's diverse and flourishing research community.
