Transportation Engineer Team Lead

Vierbicher is seeking a Transportation Engineer Team Lead with a well-developed knowledge of the planning and design of transportation facilities. This role will be instrumental in assisting to develop the new Transportation Services line at Vierbicher. This position will focus on completing transportation designs and studies in support of private development projects and municipal infrastructure projects, where local transportation facilities interact with regional County and State highway systems. This position will also have the opportunity to assist in growing this new service line to create a self-sustaining Transportation Market Segment within the company.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive traffic studies and analyses to assess current conditions, identify issues, and propose solutions for improving traffic flow and safety.
  • Design traffic control measures, including traffic signals, signs, markings, traffic management plans, and road geometrics
  • Conduct traffic impact studies and analysis to assess the effects of proposed developments on traffic flow and safety.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, planners, and other engineers to integrate transportation solutions into overall project designs.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for transportation projects in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Perform traffic simulations and modeling to evaluate the performance of transportation systems under various conditions.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on traffic engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess existing conditions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients to obtain necessary approvals and permits for transportation projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to traffic engineering.
  • Evaluate, secure, and administer State and Federal Transportation funding opportunities related to local municipal projects.


The ideal candidate for this position is a motivated individual who is excited about growing a new service line within the firm. Candidates should also be familiar with traffic management software and data collection and also proficient in Civil 3D software.
