JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Professional reports to the Assistant Program Director and provides mental health clinical services to clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Provide high-quality, therapeutic, wellness and recovery oriented, direct therapy services (individual, family, group treatment, case management, and consultation) in the clinic and in the community as necessary to a caseload of Persons Served with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and co-occurring-diagnosis individuals.
  2. Provide high-quality, therapeutic, wellness and recovery oriented, direct Crisis services in the clinic and in the community as necessary to Person Served with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and co-occurring diagnosis individuals.
  3. Document services to meet all clinical program, county, and state requirements, including Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal/CalAIM requirements, noting significant intervention and progress toward development and attainment of a treatment plan.
  4. Maintain and submit all documentation and billing as it relates to Persons Served services.
  5. Meet with clinical mental health services staff for the purpose of reviewing Person Served progress and to assure quality treatment planning.
  6. Provide direction to Treatment Team to ensure they are familiar with and understand the Person Served Problem List, Plan of Care, and work in collaboration with the Person Served.
  7. Follow all reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.
  8. Review Person Served files at discharge for completion, making written notes of findings, and review findings with counseling staff for the purpose of quality assurance.
  9. Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-site staff training.
  10. Communicate closely, in a systematic fashion, with agencies and significant others involved in the rehabilitation of consumers.
  11. Provide the Program Director/Assistant Program Director with timely reports on any unusual occurrences that might impact the overall program operation or the health and safety of Persons Served or employees.
  12. Complete the minimum 40 hours training annually per Turning Point training requirements.
  13. Will drive on company business and transport consumers as needed.
  14. Physical presence in the office is required.
  15. Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  16. Employees are expected to manage their cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage. Any calls not covered by the stipend are to be made on a company landline phone.


ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS



  1. Licensed Preferred: Currently licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with at least two (2) years' post licensure experience.
  2. Masters: A Master's degree in behavioral health science with current registration with the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) or an Associate Social Worker (ASW).
  3. Current certified training in emergency first aid procedures and CPR, preferred.
  4. Knowledge of best practices regarding the treatment of clients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and Dual-Diagnosis individuals.
  5. Knowledge and ability of record keeping procedures related to patient charts and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  6. Experience with co-occurring substance use disorders and treatment modalities.
  7. Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  8. Must be available by cell phone as needed.
  9. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
  10. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
  11. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  12. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
  13. Must be willing and available to provide a rotation of On-call services to Persons Served.

      • Monolingual/Masters: Class 177 ($70,162.70 - $92,329.34/annually)
      • Monolingual/Licensed: Class 187 ($77,503.28 - $101,989.04/annually)
