The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities occasionally needs to hire employees on a temporary and/ or casual basis through the year. These positions perform a variety of nonacademic and/ or academic work responsibilities in a temporary or casual work schedule.

Temporary: Limited to 67 or fewer days of work in a calendar year.

Casual: Limited to working 14 or fewer hours per week; are not limited to 67 days of work in a calendar year.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with ME faculty and/ or research staff to facilitate ongoing research (50%)
- Gather and analyze data (50%)

This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the 2024-2025 fiscal year (July 2024 - June 2025). Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis. Appointments are based on need, funding, and performance.

*Required qualifications
-Educational, certification, and work experience requirements are based on, and cannot exceed, the qualifications for work performed in comparable UMN job classifications.

*Any preferred qualifications are determined by the supervisor.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has an internationally recognized faculty, and is part of the College of Science and Engineering, the highly interdisciplinary college of engineering, physical sciences, and mathematics.
