The Salvation Army Position Description Decatur, IL Position Title: Food Cook Intake Specialist Job Summary: This position will include managing pantry operations as well as food service planning, preparation, serving, and clean up in the Corps Community Building. Reports To: Shelter Director Supervises: Volunteers who support Corps Shelter Food Programs when applicable. Qualifications: A current Food Protection Managers Certification and/or the willingness as well as ability to obtain said certification is required. Candidate must possess good communication skills, be pleasant and able to work with all types of people. Experience in planning, preparing, and serving meals for large groups is necessary. Must be able to manage time and tasks serving meals as scheduled. Candidates must have a passion for fulfilling the mission of The Salvation Army and must be articulate in presenting the same to others. Candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid driver's license. Education:

Some travel is necessary for food order pick-ups and may be required for trainings. Position Ranking:
Physical Demands/ Work Environment: This Position is required to do basic business and office work. To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the individual is regularly required to talk and listen, stand, walk, sit, and use hands. Individual must be able to regularly lift to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to one hundred pounds. The use of Office and Computer Equipment is necessary. Vision abilities will require close vision. Work may be performed indoors and occasionally require outdoors to attend meetings and support food drive efforts as well as holiday food distribution.
