Position Summary:
Provide programming, setup, and machining expertise in support of daily production and prototype.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Independently create CNC programs using GibbsCAM or MasterCam.
*Experience in programming 4, & 5-axis mills, Swiss, and/or mill/turn machines.
*Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
*Identify, design and manufacture fixturing and work holding to effectively process parts through all operations.
*Analyze blueprints to calculate correct part dimension for tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
*Independently set up and operate CNC equipment on first run parts before handing off to production.
*Diagnose and troubleshoot quality and/or process related issues.
*Provide guidance to operators and setup technicians for process related issues.
*Provide cycle time and tooling cost estimates for new products to engineering.
*Communicate recommendations to engineering to modify parts and processes.
*Carry out other duties reasonable within capability as required by the supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:
*High School or GED Diploma required - Associate Degree or Certification in related field preferred.
*At least 3 years of experience with CNC programming with CAM software, and operating CNC equipment.
*Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures, and gauges to check work.
*Read Instrumentation and gauges (micro heights, micrometers, calipers, etc) to accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined.
*Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
* At least 5 years of experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.
*Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for the manufacture of parts.
*Strong mathematical skills.
*Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities.
*Able to work under own initiative.
*Flexible, courteous, friendly, and positive approach.
*Discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
*Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
*Ability to work in a team environment.
*Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is safe, neat, and tidy.

Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
