Job Summary: This position champions student success, academic excellence, and accessibility by introducing students to the library and its resources, at the direction of the Assistant Director, Library Public Services. The primary responsibilities include planning and oversight of public services, providing a high level of customer service to students and the college community. They ensure that library services, resources, and spaces are optimized to support student success. This person is often a first point of contact for current and potential students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience in a Library-related or relevant learning support field. Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

Hiring Range: $16.32

Job Specific Task List:

1. Coordinates, implements, and conducts the daily activities of Library Public Services at assigned location(s) in support of the college-wide Library Public Services vision. - (Essential)

2. Provides excellent customer service and assistance both in-person and online by responding to the information needs of students, faculty, and staff, as well as the local community; provides introduction to and support for information literacy concepts and services in the library, availability and types of assistance, general information, use of library equipment, library procedures, and access to library and College resources. - (Essential)

3.Regularly assesses whether library spaces, systems, and processes are accessible and working as planned to facilitate a positive student experience. Assists with identifying user needs, and performs assessments to enhance services. - (Essential)

4. Communicates and collaborates with Learning Commons and Library personnel to deliver services in an efficient and effective manner, cross-trains Learning Commons staff to support testing as needed, and cross-trains to provide additional support as needed for other services within the Learning Commons. - (Essential)

5.Organizes and maintains library materials and equipment, ensuring that inventory, weeding, shelving, reserve collections, shelf-reading, repair, etc. are conducted in an appropriate and service-oriented fashion. Updates accounts, overdue records, loans, claims, and library activities. - (Essential)

6. Directly oversees student workers and casual employees. - (Essential)

7. Performs complex record management including the compilation of reports requiring research and querying of data, as well as maintaining general statistical records for IPEDS and ACRL reporting; performs a variety of activities in support of library and other faculty, including assisting librarians with scheduling instruction and events, gathering and collating appropriate resources under the direction of a librarian, and ensuring that the requested resources are available and ready to meet faculty needs. - (Essential)
