ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear's dynamic global Supply Chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel factories and 20 footwear factories worldwide and a diverse raw materials source base to support our consumer needs. We pride ourselves on being able to get products to market quickly, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswear's Supply Chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers' ever-changing needs.

As a Maintenance Mechanic III in Columbia Sportswear's Distribution center, you will be responsible for maintenance of all equipment and facilities at distribution center, with an emphasis on the conveyor and sorter systems. This includes but not limited to motor swap out, ballast change and component replacement. This position is not only responsible for electrical equipment, but also for multiple other types of equipment's repair or preventative maintenance assignments in the building.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance for all warehouse and office equipment to ensure proper operating conditions. Equipment includes conveyors, racking, lighting, security, forklifts, material handling equipment, fire protection and plumbing systems.
  • Maintain logs of all preventive and breakdown maintenance performed on conveyors, forklifts and fire protection systems.
  • Perform light janitorial duties and other duties as assigned.
  • Complete tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager. Ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe, timely and correct manner.
  • Frequently lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.

YOU ARE

  • Able to deal with ambiguity and work in an evolving business environment
  • Capable of collaborating well with individuals from at various levels in the organization
  • Comfortable to deal with work and time pressures to accomplish job requirements in an efficient and effective manner

YOU HAVE

  • 5-7 years experience maintaining warehouse equipment required.
  • Possess good working knowledge of practices regarding hazard communication, chemical usage, material safety data sheets, lock out/tag out, emergency evacuation procedures and emergency generation procedures.
  • Possess intermediate computer skills.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, climb stairs and use ladders, sit and stand for extended periods of time, regularly lift/carry up to 40 pounds, and ability to move freely through the distribution center.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and powered tools, and possess an aptitude for mechanics.
