The rate of pay for this position is $65,000 annually and the hours are Monday through Friday 8am until 4:30pm. This is an on-site position.

Your New Role:

Working under the guidance of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Specialist is responsible for handling various human resource functions including the area of benefits administration, employee on and off boarding, oversight of training and engagement platforms, and general staff support. This individual is adept at learning, is good with grasping systems, and enjoys educating staff on benefits, policy, and procedure. The ideal candidate for this role is someone that is eager to assist with the many diverse responsibilities and requests that fall under the Human Resources umbrella.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs customer service functions for HR by answering employee requests and inquires
Administer employee benefits programs as well as with benefits enrollments, plan changes and benefit terminations. Maintain all employee records up to date on our HRIS, Learning Management System, Performance Management platform, and other vendor platforms.
Handles processing and completion of employee background checks, DMV checks etc.
Conducts employee new hire orientation
Assists with various employee hiring efforts as needed
Completes all verification of employment requests
Serves as point person for staff and management on use of our training and education platforms
Work with departments within the agency to create internal trainings for employees within the Agency.
Maintains all employee HR files and document uploading
Reconciles vendor invoices for employee benefits and submits for payment
* Assists the HR Director with benefits related reporting/compliance requirements

* Assists the HR Director with the planning and execution of annual staff events

* Assists the HR Director with the completion of various projects that arise

* Handles other HR related administrative/clerical functions

Skills and Knowledge:

* A minimum of two years of Human Resources administrative experience required

* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred

* Desire and ability to work with highly diverse staff and youth from varied cultural, racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds

* Excellent communication skills and proven success with managing detailed assignments

* Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and effectively determine when additional input is needed

* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, and Excel

* Ability to support staff use and updates to our Learning Management System and Staff Engagement platform.

* Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with often conflicting priorities

* Consistently demonstrates an adaptable approach and an approachable demeanor
