MCC Community Advocate

The Community Advocate position will serve in an advisory role to MNCCTN and MCC, and represent/advocate for their communities across the cancer continuum. The Community Advocate brings expertise and lived experience to ensure the programmatic work of MNCCTN and MCC will meet the needs of members and communities within their catchment area. This is a temporary position, and covers work across five different work areas focused on clinical trials education and development, reviewing cancer clinical trials protocols, and establishing community relationships. Work may include virtual and in-person meetings, reviewing and giving feedback on educational materials and study documents, connecting with researchers and community members at events, etc. This position is also part-time, and approved for a maximum of 10 hours per quarter.

Required Qualifications
* Experience working with diverse populations
* Interest in and commitment to advancing equity in health and education
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with participants, students, staff, and faculty by using advanced written, verbal, and listening communication skills
* Valid driver's license and personal vehicle to attend events and transport materials

Pay Range: $40 - $50/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
