Position Overview

The Floor Care Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall longevity of all flooring surfaces throughout the hotel. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that both hard floors and carpeted areas remain clean, safe, and visually appealing for guests and team members.

What You'll Do

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop hard floors and carpets in assigned areas including corridors, lobbies, and elevators.
• Spot-clean stains, spills, and debris promptly to prevent damage or safety hazards.
• Perform deep carpet cleaning using shampooing or extraction techniques.
• Maintain public area and guest room carpets using approved chemicals and procedures in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
• Perform hard floor care such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing to ensure appearance and surface protection.
• Safely operate specialized equipment including floor machines, buffers, wet/dry vacuums, and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on all floor care equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Place and remove safety signs such as "Wet Floor" signs before, during, and after cleaning tasks.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals correctly, ensuring proper dilution and safety procedures.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Report maintenance issues or damaged floors/equipment promptly to a supervisor or the maintenance department.
• Respond to guest questions and provide directions or assistance as needed.
• Provide guidance for guest and employee safety during emergencies such as fire alarms or evacuation scenarios.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the job.

• Ability to support emergency procedures and ensure safe conditions in guest areas.
• Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods in public areas.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior floor care experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
