The manager owns the Production Control system that tracks milestone health, work-card and non-routine flow, contract-code accuracy, labor and financial reporting, and cross-functional constraints. The role supports Project Managers with reliable information for daily execution and recovery, while creating a strong feedback loop to Planning so future project plans, labor assumptions, task sequencing, and milestone standards continuously improve.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead structured recovery planning when aircraft or major milestones are threatened.
  • Coordinate Operations, Planning, Materials, Engineering, Quality, Shops, Tooling, and customer-facing resources to remove constraints.
  • Maintain a single recovery plan with actions, owners, due dates, and expected schedule impact.
  • Ensure schedule changes and revised delivery commitments are supported by transparent operating data.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Production Control team.
  • Establish standard work for shift turnover, aircraft walks, card staging, project-plan updates, progress reporting, and escalation.
  • Define staffing, coverage, skill expectations, and development needs for the function.
  • Build a culture of urgency, accountability, accuracy, and constructive challenge.
  • Partner closely with Heavy Maintenance Project Managers and line leadership while preserving clear accountability for production flow.
  • Support customer reviews with credible status, risks, recovery actions, and delivery outlook.
  • Capture post-check lessons and translate recurring causes of delay into process improvements.
  • Own the milestone-control system and data discipline that provide one credible operating view of aircraft status.
  • Assist Project Managers with contract-code setup and usage, labor and cost reporting, budget visibility, variance analysis, and identification of financial opportunities or leakage.
