What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a Manager, Technical Programs to lead Production Planning, Factory Strategy planning, and high-impact Special Projects across Energy manufacturing. This role is responsible for driving planning alignment and execution across MFCA and MFTX, ensuring factory plans are executable, risks are surfaced early, and strategic initiatives translate into on-the-ground results.

In this role, you will lead and coordinate the teams responsible for production planning, labor planning and factory strategy at both sites, owning planning cadence, cross-site alignment, and execution discipline. You will partner closely with Production, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Design, Manufacturing Engineering and Commercial teams to balance near-term execution with longer-term factory readiness, ramps, and cost-down priorities.


What You'll Do
  • Lead production planning execution across MFCA and MFTX, owning build plans, replans, and planning cadence across short- and mid-term horizons to meet volume, cost, and delivery targets
  • Manage and coordinate factory strategy planning for both sites, supporting capacity ramps, line readiness, downtime strategy, new programs and long-range planning in alignment with demand and POR assumptions
  • Lead special projects that drive optimization cut across Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality, including ramp readiness, throughput recovery, cost-down initiatives, and execution risk burn-down
  • Identify risks to production output, clear-to-build, labor, tooling, or materials, and drive cross-functional mitigation plans to set up the programs for long term success. closure
  • Develop and maintain planning tools, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that improve visibility, accountability, and decision-making for factory and leadership teams while driving innovation and standardization to continue scaling the business
  • Partner with senior leaders to surface tradeoffs, evaluate scenarios, and enable timely, high-confidence decisions that materially impact factory performance and long-term strategy

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, technical program management, or industrial engineering
  • Demonstrated success owning multi-program or factory-level initiatives in high-ambiguity environments
  • Strong analytical background with experience in production planning, capacity modeling, or operational finance
  • Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to influence critical decisions and align cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to operate independently, define problems, and deliver outcomes that scale beyond individual contribution
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while managing multiple competing priorities
