Staff Performance Manager
Employbridge - Muscle Shoals, AL

Location: Onsite at a large automotive/light manufacturing facility in Muscle Shoals, AL

Hours: 8am to 5pm - 3 days a week / 2 days a week must be flexible to oversee 2nd & 3rd shift

The Staff Performance Manager (SPM) is responsible for leading workforce operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring exceptional employee engagement, performance, attendance, safety, and client satisfaction. This role serves as the primary point of contact for both associates and client leadership, while overseeing high-volume staffing initiatives, employee relations, and workforce management.

The ideal candidate will have a background in staffing, recruiting, HR, or workforce management, experience supporting manufacturing operations, and a proven ability to lead and influence large groups of employees across multiple shifts. Flexibility and responsiveness are critical, as this role may require after-hours support and on-call availability to meet business needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day performance and engagement of a large contingent workforce within a manufacturing environment.
  • Build strong relationships with client leadership and serve as a trusted workforce partner.
  • Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and employee retention efforts.
  • Conduct associate orientations, safety trainings, and performance coaching sessions.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, turnover, and employee relations concerns.
  • Investigate and resolve employee issues, conflicts, and policy violations in a timely manner.
  • Partner with recruiting teams to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Analyze workforce metrics and develop action plans to improve retention and performance.
  • Maintain visibility across multiple shifts and departments to ensure operational coverage and employee support.
  • Audit processes and ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and employment laws.
  • Support workforce planning initiatives during peak production periods.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide regular updates regarding staffing and workforce performance.
  • Remain available for urgent staffing or employee-related matters outside of regular business hours as needed.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success managing large groups of employees (100+ preferred).
  • Strong employee relations and performance management experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workforce management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support multiple shifts when business needs require.
  • High-volume recruiting experience


Preferred

  • Staffing industry experience.
  • Experience managing contingent or temporary workforces.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and safety practices within manufacturing environments.


    Schedule & Work Environment

    • Onsite in a manufacturing environment.
    • Flexible schedule required.
    • Must be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call support.
    • Frequent walking throughout production and warehouse facilities.
