What You'll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and wellrun store experience within our Fresh departments.

You'll:

• Build rapport with customers.
• Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Communicating with Meijer vendors and checking in product
• Handle Hazardous Waste product and processing expired product
• Responsible for reclamation and cardboard baler
• Respond to customer questions in an effective manner.
• Stock product and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
• Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products for our customers.
• This position is applicable to the following departments: Grocery, Grocery Backroom, Deli, Meat, and Produce.

What You Bring

• 18 years of age or older
• Utilize powered equipment such as pallet jack, stand up and sit-down forklifts, and scissor lift.
• A friendly, customerfirst mindset
• Strong listening and communication skills
• Comfort learning and using jobspecific technology
• Attention to detail and ability to stay organized
• Ability to follow processes and safety standards
• Calm, focused approach in a fastpaced environment
• Willingness to be physically active, including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods
• A passion in working with customers every day
• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful, but not required
• You have the ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods
