Job Summary:
Responsible for directing and overseeing the daily operations of multiple Ready Mix production facilities. Provides leadership and supervision for plant employees while ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance, product quality, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and achievement of businessobjectives. This position is accountable for managing plant operations, supporting workforce development, coordinating production activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Direct and oversee plant operations to ensure safety, quality, production, environmental, and customer service objectives are achieved
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to employees at assigned facilities, including performance management, employee development, coaching, and training
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing employees
- Effectively handle the work environment to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory and production targets are met
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DEQ, and other industry requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and business objectives
- Monitor and evaluate plant performance through established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions and improvement initiatives as needed
- Assist in developing and managing operational budgets, forecasts, and resource planning activities
- Review production, quality control, maintenance, and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, safety, quality, and cost management
Main Responsibilities Cont.
- Establish and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel and vendors to diagnose and resolve equipment issues while ensuring equipment remains safe and operational
- Collaborate with sales, quality control, dispatch, maintenance, and other business functions to support customer needs and operational goals
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, regulatory agencies, local communities, and other business partners
- Safely operate Company vehicles and equipment when required to perform essential job duties
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in business, construction management, or similar/relevant field preferred
- Current MSHA Certification and/or ability to obtain may be required for some roles
- Valid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required; CDL a plus
Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in Ready Mix, aggregate, asphalt, manufacturing, construction materials, or a similar production environment
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
- Ability to effectively lead teams, prioritize work, and manage multiple operational responsibilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and production, maintenance, or operations-related software systems
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
Physical Requirements:
- Wears andmaintainsrequired PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities asrequired
- Regularly useshands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects, write, andoperatea keyboard and/or mobile device to complete administrative tasks and support project documentation
- Regularly communicates (talks and hears) and uses visual acuity to exchange information, coordinate work, and maintainsafe and effective jobsite operations
- Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks
- Frequently stands or works on feet for extended periods and walks across uneven terrain to navigate construction sites safely and effectively
- Frequently works in close proximity toheavy equipment and machinery to oversee field activities
- Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs
- Occasionallylifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds to handle materials, tools, and equipment essential job functions with or withoutassistance
- Occasionally experiences exposure to fuel, oil, and other chemicals associated with construction equipment and site activities
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends; overnight travel may be required
