You Are:

UST is searching for an ETL DataStage Consultant who will understand requirements and implement ETL processes using DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.



The opportunity:

* Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications

* Write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval

* Manage and configure DataStage environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability

* Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot issues related to ETL processes

* Implement security best practices for data handling and integration

* Provide comprehensive support for production processes and resolve issues as they arise

* Monitor job logs and performance metrics to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations

* Implement incident management processes to ensure timely resolution of production incidents

* Plan and execute regular maintenance activities, including system upgrades and patches

* Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards during maintenance activities

* Lead development and maintenance of Python scripts for data processing and automation



This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

* 6+ years of proven experience in ETL development and administration using DataStage

* Expert-level proficiency in ETL processes, data extraction, transformation, and loading

* Strong knowledge of SQL queries and scripting for data manipulation and retrieval

* Solid programming skills in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing tasks

* Solid understanding of Unix shell scripts and Cron jobs

* Deep knowledge of Relational databases and data management

* Experience with Control-M, Managed File Transfer (MFT), and IBM Gentran

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

* Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve ETL and system performance issues

* Proficiency in monitoring system performance and job logs

* Experience implementing security best practices for data handling and integration

* Knowledge of Agile delivery models with tools like JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

* Ability to lead and drive utilities and frameworks to automate functionality and environment checks

* Clear communication skills and experience working in onshore-offshore models

* Ability to work collaboratively with business analysts, stakeholders, and cross-functional technical teams

* Experience managing application support and tracking KPI/SLA metrics

* Nice to Have:

* Understanding and/or hands-on experience with Snowflake platform

* Exposure to incident management and production support best practices



Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Compensation Range: $62,000-$93,000



Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
