Role Objective

In this role, incumbents perform a variety of housekeeping of the manufacturing and distribution facility, maintaining cleanliness and quality standards throughout the facility by deep cleaning of all production lines including machines and equipment, assist the preventative maintenance crew as needed, and back-up others in production as instructed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Operate a tow motor during the removal and collection of refuse from the facility.
  • Perform manufacturing facility cleaning activities: operating industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors, catwalks, floor drains, pipes, tanks, and equipment; floors, hand rails, etc..
  • Assist with production line preventive maintenance crew and equipment, and deep cleaning of equipment on a daily basis that requires Lockout Tagout training.
  • Operate simple machinery: floor scrubbers, Industrial High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) vacuum, Steam Cleaners, Pallet Jacks, Compacting and Disposal equipment, etc.
  • Responsible and skilled in painting the facility and offices under corporate guidelines, following the Work Instruction Sheet (WIS), proper handling of chemicals and solvents, following proper disposal guidelines, following safety guidelines.
  • Assist the production service department and the packaging department by performing various production tasks (sleeve, shrink wrap, pack, nozzle, label, stencil, etc.)
  • Special sanitization of facility and equipment as needed when any quality issues are detected, working closely with the Cleaning & Sanitization department, and Mix department.
  • Troubleshooting the housekeeping and safety problems and/or advising the appropriate people.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance by labeling and delivering scrap totes and drums to appropriate designated areas.
  • Move stacked pallets of cardboard to pallet wrapper and load onto trailer.
  • Gather necessary components, such as cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Serve as back up to other members of the team. (overtime is a frequent requirement)
  • As a material handler, you will move material within the work station as required, all types of components, product, materials, furniture, and any incoming and outgoing from other departments through-out the facilities.
  • Process paperwork (cleaning logs and equipment powered industrial transporation (PIT) checklists, etc.) in a timely manner and according to procedure.
  • Assist with the orientation and onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Know and established safety and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate powered industrial transportation equipment in accordance with Standard Operation Procedures and training
  • All general housekeeping will be routed through this position.

Education and Experience

At least one year of previous experience in industrial or commercial cleaning or janitorial cleaning. Experience in operating industrial equipment and previous motor experience. Experience in cleaning industrial equipment; experience or knowledge of lock-out, tag-out (LOTO) procedures.


Proficiency can also be obtained through on-the-job training.
