POSITION OVERVIEW:
Grab the reigns and help shape the future of the Seaport's best kept secret! Creativity must infuse everything we do, and everyone in the Hotel. Performance realities will always exist, but we use these constraints to push, not limit, our creativity.
The Restaurant Bartender is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by supporting servers in providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guests' needs. The Bartender comprehends the cocktail/beverage menus, prepares drinks as requested by our guests and serves drinks to our guests either directly or via service staff.
Hourly rate of pay for this position: $33.41 plus commission
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance with all hotel standards and local laws.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections.
* Must have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages, must retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
* Perform all side work as assigned by management including but not limited to the cleaning of all bar and beverage equipment, cleaning bar seats and surrounding guests areas, cleaning of walls, bar floors and surrounding assigned work area.
* Ensure positive guest service and respond positively to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
* Maintain knowledge of hotel offerings and local surroundings, i.e. nearby entertainment, theaters, etc.
* Assist in the controlling of food and beverage quantities by avoiding over/under preparing.
* Assist with set up and break down of all the bar areas.
* Check identification for proof of age when required.
* Perform any other duties required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
* A minimum of relevant bartending experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.
* Must possess strong knowledge of mixology, beverage garnishes and overall beverage service to include liquor, beer, and wine knowledge.
* Ability to always maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure.
* Proven ability to engage guests at all levels. Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging, and personalized service.
* Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
* Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
* Computer literacy to include Payroll systems, Micros, POS systems
* Serve Safe certified | Unexpired TIPs required.
