We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Senior Field Services Representative. ** This position requires the ability to travel 50-75% of the time ** WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Senior Field Service Representative (FSR) is responsible for leading a field team of technicians supporting military training systems at various US Army sites across the globe. The Senior FSR works for the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager and works collectively with the Engineering, Logistics, Configuration Management, and Quality. The Senior FSR is someone who effectively leads a team in the completion of tasks with a focus on quality output that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
- Install and configure computer hardware, peripherals, related devices, network cabling and related infrastructure
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage Electronic Security System (ESS) components including Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, access control card readers, and door contacts
- Evaluate low voltage audiovisual and video teleconference systems for compliance with customer requirements
- Accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of issues experienced in the field during installation and maintenance events
- Provide training to customer personnel. Must be able to work and interact with local personnel, including civilians, contractors, and military
- Provide testing, installation, and configuration expertise for the support of user requirements of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software and hardware
- Provide technical analysis, recommendations, and implementation plans for COTS hardware configurations, IT Networks, computational systems, and virtualization deployments
- Work with vendors to evaluate new products and resolve equipment configuration/design issues
- Conduct technical site surveys and installs and provide analysis recommendations on the best technical and engineering solutions to meet budget, facility, and project
- Manage other team personnel in the field, coordinate travel, and be the main point of contact on the ground between the field team, customer, and engineering team
- Support extensive travel to domestic and international military installations; must be able to travel up to 50% -75%
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, MIS or related field or equivalent professional work experience or certifications
- 5-8 years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer system/network engineering
- Advanced understanding of IT devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, cabling, network layout and design
- Relevant network certifications and training related to network establishment and virtualization (Cisco, VMware, etc.)
- Able to work and communicate well both orally and written in a team environment as this position involves regular interfacing with customer personnel
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity and experience using hand and power tools
- Currently have or be able to obtain a SECRET level US Government security clearance
- Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required
- Security+ Certification or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hiring
- Self-starter able to work under minimal supervision while having the skillset to manage the workload of junior personnel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in information technology, MIS or related field or equivalent professional work experience or certifications
- Over 8 years of experience in computer system/network engineering
- Military background or experience affiliated with military organizations
- Demonstrated experience with software installation and configuration
- Experience with Linux systems
- TOP SECRET level US Government security clearance
- Network+ or A+ Certification
