The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) is a professional medical society dedicated to advancing the knowledge and practice of allergy, asthma and immunology. With more than 7,000 members worldwide, AAAAI supports education, research, clinical care and advocacy to improve patient outcomes. Its work includes publishing leading scientific journals, hosting an annual scientific meeting, providing continuing medical education, advocating for issues impacting physician practice, funding research through its Foundation, and offering resources and tools for both clinicians and the public. The Research and Training Division of the AAAAI promotes awareness of A/I research and training programs, while expanding access to educational and financial resources that support growth within the field. To foster long-term engagement and leadership within the A/I field, the Division advances career pathway development initiatives. Through awarding grants, honorary awards and travel scholarship opportunities, the Division strives to advance the field of allergy/immunology. The AAAAI Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology with a mission of funding research that leads to the prevention and cure of asthma and allergic and immunologic disease. Separately incorporated from the AAAAI, the Foundation grants major Faculty Development Awards annually to young investigators working in the Allergy/Immunology field. JOB OVERVIEW:
The Program Manager provides high-level program management to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology's (AAAAI) and AAAAI Foundation grants and awards program, in support of physicians in academic practice and A/I research. In addition, this position is responsible for management and coordination of other initiatives aligning with the strategic plan and objectives set forth by the AAAAI. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (minimum of 37.5 hours/week):

Approximately 1-2 weeks per year; occasional evening and weekend work required. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a full-time position is located in our office in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days on-site in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Unrestricted mobility: must be able to walk great distances, move quickly from place to place, and lift and move 30-lb boxes.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Travel to and attendance at the AAAAI Annual Meeting, Faculty Development Program (biennial) and Academic Leaders Meeting (annual) and participation in occasional early morning or evening committee conference calls is required for this position. | |
