Job Summary

#CA-PS
Under the supervision of the Director of Research & Evaluation, will work in close collaboration with program and evaluation staff to contribute to research and evaluation projects focused on human services (e.g., developmental disabilities, child welfare). Provide support for human services research and evaluation activities (e.g., data transformation, data cleaning, data analysis, interpretation of findings, creation of reports and presentations for policymakers, stakeholders, and government clients). The focus of this position will be on use of data for quality assurance, quality improvement, and evaluation purposes within the context of human services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • Bachelor's degree in related area (e.g., psychology, public health, social work, etc.) and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience assisting with human services research and/or program evaluation. Experience with the social science research process. Knowledge of social science research concepts and terminology.
  • Experience gathering and synthesizing information from a variety of sources. Experience communicating research results/findings.
  • Experience using Stata, SPSS, Excel, or other statistical software packages to enter, manage, and analyze data. Proficiency in using a variety of computer applications within a PC environment (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, internet browsers).
  • Experience tracking project tasks and deliverables and adhering to project timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and keen attention to detail whenever working with data. Skills to adhere to systems designed to ensure accuracy of data and results.
  • Skills to effectively manage time and see assigned part of projects through to completion on time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on research/evaluation projects focused on human services research.
  • Experience contributing to research proposals.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experience and/or training in cultural responsiveness or cultural competency.
  • Knowledge of University organization policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic team environment.

Department Overview
