Position Summary

The Rentals and Events Coordinator oversees the communication, calendaring, processing and coordinated details associated to rentals and events at The Salvation Army Long Beach Red Shield. Rentals and events include, but are not limited to, internal programming, facility use agreements, external programs/rentals, and various other community or collaborative events. It is the responsibility of the Rentals and Events Coordinator to collect and input details into the organizational calendaring system, invoice and process payments, and communicate with rental and event contacts any prices, changes, or adjustments necessary.

Pay Range

$25.00/hr. - $27.00/hr.

Essential Functions



  • Recruit and engage community organizations and outside groups to increase use of the Long Beach Red Shield facility for events, rentals, and partnerships. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the successful planning and execution of all approved activities.
  • Obtain all necessary information of interested programs and events participants and process accordingly.
  • Distribute vital information, including changes and adjustments for rentals and events, to the appropriate departments within the organization.
  • Create and process agreements for rentals and events accordingly.
  • Create, distribute, and collect feedback and information regarding rentals and events from participants for customer service improvement purposes.
  • Oversee the compliance of all Salvation Army safety regulations and client confidentiality as it may relate to activities involving Programs.
  • Oversee the fiscal and physical stewardship of the department, departmental budget, and schedules.
  • Oversee staff and functions relating to the coordination of internal events, programming, and facility rentals.
  • Other duties as assigned by Corps Officer or Red Shield Program Director within the scope of the position.


Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Associates degree or minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service or as an event coordinator.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. A minimum of two years' customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in document management and data processing.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Proficient in computers and learning third-party software applications.
  • Valid CA Driver's License or State ID.
